FAQ

  • No, please do not resubmit your request. All funding requests submitted prior to the launch of our new tool on June 25, 2024, will still be reviewed and processed accordingly. Regardless of Roche’s decision, you will be contacted at the email address provided. You may also check the status of your request at any time by visiting the link provided to you in the request confirmation email.

  • A tangible benefit is a specific entitlement/right that a sponsor receives in exchange for their support.

For example, Roche could receive the following tangible benefits from sponsoring an event or activity:

    • Entry tickets

    • Booth or floor space

    • Corporate brand promotion (banner, logo placement on event promo materials)

    • Membership rights

  • No. The approval for a funding request one year, does not guarantee approval in subsequent years. Each funding application is evaluated separately on its own merits and is subject to various factors, including but not limited to, strategic alignment with Roche objectives, available funding, potential impact, etc.

  • If you have questions about the application process, please reach out to your Roche contact. If you do not have a Roche contact, or are unsure, submit an inquiry using this link.

Note: Please note that this link should not be used to submit funding requests.

  • Funding decisions cannot be made outside of the Funding Request Tool. Please submit your funding request application for Roche to consider supporting your project or initiative.

  • Roche-authored agreements are preferred and help expedite the contracting and payment process. However, Roche may sign agreements drafted by requestors, subject to the review and approval of our legal department. Roche’s legal department may require revisions to an externally written agreement.

  • No. Please submit one application for each activity or initiative for which you’d like funding support.

  • Yes. Preliminary or draft agendas are acceptable. However, please note that during the request reconciliation stage of Roche’s funding process, you will be asked to upload the finalized agenda for your event/activity.

  • Venue location is critical to making a decision to support a funding request, as Roche must ensure that the venue is conducive to learning and that funds are not co-opted for leisurely/lavish or entertainment activities.

  • Yes, your Roche contact can assist in the application process, however they may not submit it on your behalf, as all applicants must create an account and submit requests under their account.

  • At any time, requestors can log in to their account on the Funding Request Tool to review the status of their request. Simply navigate to the “My account” icon, select “Manage my applications” and review the “Stage” of the desired application. ‘Blank Stages’ (Stage: “-”) signify that an application is being internally reviewed.

    1. While an application is in the ‘Pending’ stage:

      • Roche has not begun reviewing your application and you may edit it as desired.

    2. While your application is in the ‘Review’ stage:

      • Notify Roche via this link. Please make sure to include your original request number. If changes are significant you may be asked to resubmit a new application.

    3. Post-approval and/or post-executed contract:

      • Notify the Roche signatory (contact information available on the signed written agreement) and our contracting team of the changes to the initiative. If an initiative is delayed or the objectives of a project have changed, contract amendments and/or re-evaluations may be required.

  • No. Decisions not to fund a request are final.

  • Payment can only be issued once all parties have signed the written agreement. Electronic funds transfer (EFT) is Roche’s required payment method to ensure payments are expedited and secure. Typically, funds should be received at least 2 weeks following the executed agreement.

For International Conference Support (ICS), funds will be dispersed once a Roche representative has reviewed and approved the returned attestation letter.

For requests with milestone payments, funds will be dispersed following the confirmation of milestone completion from a designated Roche representative.

  • Unfortunately, if you’ve submitted the wrong form (e.g. a philanthropic application instead of a sponsorship application), Roche will notify you that your request cannot be considered for funding and ask you to submit a new application under the correct form.

  • To request funding for a US-based program, project or event, visit the Genentech Funding Request System (GFRS)
